Yoga with Melissa 383 Heart Stabilization Series: Yoga for Worry
In order to relate to the experience of worry, today´s hatha yoga class is built around a recent experience I had of taking an exam. I will share with you the way worry showed up in my body and mind, how I reacted to worry and what my story of worry revealed to me.
We will begin our hatha yoga class by tuning into our body in heart bed class and recalling what worry feels like in our bodies. From here we will turn to grounding postures by coming into our legs and feet. We will start with bridge pose and hand to big toe pose. Childs pose helps to bring a calming presence to worry. When we come to standing we will experience the grounding presence of triangle pose. Legs up the wall creates a soothing counter experience to worry. Front lying backbend sphinx pose is another grounding backbend to connect you to the earth and ease worry. Finally we will come to seated for a reassuring forward fold and then a mudra to ease anxiety and nervousness.
