Short Summary
We are Namaste Yoga, a Free Weekly Yoga Video Podcast. Over the past seven years many of you have fallen in love with our “real yoga for real people” approach to yoga. We have always tried to be frugal, in fact Tim worked for the video camera we use to film Namaste Yoga each week by filming commercials for an electronics company in Toronto. We know from your testimonials that you love the way Tim captures the landscape, wildlife and nature of Victoria in our yoga videos and this year we would like to take steps to improve the quality of Namaste Yoga. This means purchasing a couple of pieces of equipment.
What We Need & What You Get
What we need is a phone stabilizer and a DJI Phantom. In order to raise the money we have put the following perks together for you. We have thank you videos, yoga videos and personalized yoga practices to thank you for your contributions. Namaste Yoga has always been about community. Each episode is watched by more than 30,000 people a week, if even 500 of you contributed $2.00 we would easily reach our goal. That’s less than 10 % of our audience making a minimal contribution. If we don’t reach our entire goal, we will put what we raise towards the tools and pay for the rest ourselves.
These are the names of the tools:
Lanparte Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer
DJI Phantom Drone
The Impact
Both devices will have an impact on our filming of the weekly free yoga video Namaste Yoga and the regular Vlogs and Interviews. The Drone will be used to help show the beauty of the environment that we film in here in British Columbia. Tim has been practicing with a learner drone and is ready to show where we film. We envision using some of the footage for intros and outros, for establishing where we are at the beginning of Namaste Yoga classes, for background and also perhaps we will use it for mediations showing sunsets, sunrises and nature at it’s finest here in British Columbia.
The Stabilizer will also allow for smoother shots while I’m walking and talking, interviewing and showing everyone the beauty that is the West Coast. It will also be used in Namaste Yoga filmings, effectively using my cell phone as a second camera and allowing Tim to get some extra shots to be added in during editing the final version.
These two items are very important to the production quality of the yoga show. We feel that adding these technical components will help to create a more professional look and feel for the show which in turn may help with sharing the free weekly yoga classes with more yogis from around the world. Each week I have been consistent in putting out a new episode of Namaste Yoga. Currently we have over 325 free one hour yoga classes for people around the world to enjoy.
The impact that Namaste Yoga has had on people around the world has been humbling and I would like to continue to improve the quality of the videos each and every year. You may remember that two years ago we asked for support for a new Wireless Microphone and thanks to the support we received we were able to purchase exactly what we needed to improve the audio for all our videos.
